Raising awareness throughout July
Did you know that, according to Sarcoma UK, 90% of the public do not know what sarcoma is, or only have a vague idea. Campaigners have been raising the profile of sarcoma throughout July which has been designated ‘Sarcoma Awareness Month’.
Sarcomas are rare forms of cancer: the two main kinds of sarcoma are:
- soft tissue sarcoma
- bone sarcoma (also known as primary bone cancer)
Each year, around 5900 people in UK are diagnosed with sarcoma.
