Cancer care and support across Harrogate and rural districts
Harrogate and District Foundation NHS Trust diagnoses and treats people affected by cancer, via The Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre, Harrogate District Hospital and other regional centres. We work closely with our partner organisations across the Harrogate and West Yorkshire Cancer Alliance, to provide the highest quality up-to-date treatments, care and support.
How can we support you?
The help we provide extends far beyond medical treatment
We know that living with cancer has repercussions beyond treating the cancer itself. Your mental health, your financial situation, the disruption to your family life are all important issues. Check our range of support services and get the help you need.
It’s so helpful to have the support from lots of knowledgeable staff and to have conversations with other people in a similar situation.
My care and treatment has been excellent and I feel very lucky to have a cancer treatment care so close to where I live everyone involved in my treatment has been so caring and supportive.
Care and treatment ongoing and so far it has been excellent. Cannot think of any way it could have been improved – all staff have been very kind and considerate.
I am also lucky enough to have sessions with a brilliant clinical psychologist.
The staff are amazing, the Robert Ogden is such a calm and welcoming space. Considering I go every 3 weeks for treatment I couldn’t imagine having to go anywhere else. I’m a person not just a patient number and am treated as an individual.
Absolutely fantastic from start to finish, with a few (much needed) laughs along the way. Each and every NHS work that I came in contact with were amazing, and I thank each and every one of them.
The care I have received has been 1st class, my consultants and surgeon, Macmillan nurses and hospital staff have been so caring and considerate and made me feel safe, all during lockdown too.
Treatment was A1 from start to finish, everything from questions to care, was no trouble to the hospital staff, I felt so safe in there care, thank you so much.
I attend Active Against Cancer at Harrogate Sports and Social Club. Without the trainers there I would not be in the good health I am now. They are life savers.
I wouldn’t have made it through chemo without these treatments – initially on the chemotherapy unit – these treatments have, I believe, improved my general wellbeing in terms of mind and body wellbeing. Thank you.
