Lung cancer awareness month

Raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of lung cancer.

As November is lung cancer awareness month, we’d like to share some information about the disease, which accounts for 13% of all cancer cases in the UK (Cancer Reasearch UK).

Although smoking is a significant risk factor, causing almost three-quarters of lung cancer diagnosis cases, twenty percent of those diagnosed have never smoked, and this figure is rising.

Visit the All You Need is Lungs campaign website to read more about the experiences of those diagnosed with lung cancer.

This YouTube video with Dr Ranj explains the different stages of lung cancer.

The lung cancer page on the Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre website also provides useful information about the types of lung cancer, diagnostic tests and treatments. You can also see the specialist doctors and nurses who work in our lung cancer multidisciplinary team.
