Get active throughout May
May is National Walking Month and it’s a great opportunity to enjoy one of the easiest way to improve your health. Walking is free and is easy to build into your daily routine.
Did you know that all patients with a recent cancer diagnosis, or who are receiving cancer treatment in the Harrogate and District NHS Trust area, are eligible to join Active Against Cancer? It is an award-winning free NHS health and wellbeing service, that puts exercise at its core.
The service runs a weekly Walk and Talk session for Active Against Cancer patients. The walk – every Tuesday at 1pm – involves a pleasant stroll round the beautiful Crimple Valley. After the walk, there is the opportunity to enjoy a drink and a catch-up at the Harrogate Squash and Fitness Centre cafe. Once registered with the service, patients are asked to contact the Active Against Cancer team to book their place on the walk.
If you’d like to continue staying active over the summer, look out for details about the Summer Sweat challenge, which will be released later in June.
