A service provided by Carers’ Resource
Did you know that Carers’ Resource offers the Carers’ Time Off service which provides breaks for carers in the Harrogate area? The service matches volunteers to spend time with the person they are looking after, allowing the unpaid carer to have a much-needed break.
Volunteers are carefully matched according to location, availability and interests, and may get involved in a range of activities – including accompanying someone to go for a walk, the gym or attending a group; or at home – reading a magazine, doing puzzles or just having a cup of tea and a chat. This can be a real support to carers, enabling them to enjoy a bit of time off from their caring responsibilities.
The group would welcome new volunteers from a range of backgrounds and are particularly keen to welcome male volunteers. The role may also be of interest to anyone wishing to gain more experience of social care.
If you would like to know more about the Carers’ Time Off Service in the Harrogate area, or indeed would like to volunteer, please contact Helen Baldwin (Volunteer Co-ordinator) by emailing carerstimeoff@carersresource.org or calling 01423 500 555.
