Support for patients with a life-limiting illness

Our Community Specialist Palliative Care Team are here to support you.

Palliative care and support

Harrogate District Hospital and the Community Specialist Palliative Care Team provide a service that specialises in caring for patients living with cancer or a life-limiting illness. We support patients and their family or carers and aim to improve the quality of life by relieving symptoms. These may be physical or emotional, such as pain, nausea and anxiety. We also assist with future care arrangements, possibly involving hospice care or nursing homes as appropriate.

The palliative care team work alongside other medical professionals supporting you either within the hospital setting or at home.
