Living With and Beyond Cancer videos

Collaborative video project featuring patients’ experiences.

A number of NHS Trusts in the West Yorkshire and Harrogate Cancer Alliance have created a collaborative video project entitled Living With and Beyond Cancer. The aim of the project was to create site-specific cancer films, introduce types of treatment and explain how to manage short and long-term effects of treatment. The videos also discuss signs and symptoms of reoccurrence and explore local health and wellbeing support services.

Some of the videos were filmed at the Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre with patients discussing their experiences on film.

A premiere screening of the films took place recently with Cineworld cinema at the White Rose Centre kindly offering one of their cinema screens for a private screening of the seven videos. The event was a private screening for the people living with cancer who participated in the films as well as the West Yorkshire and Harrogate Cancer Alliance and teams from the hospitals involved.
